Metis

Terms of Service

Metis · Last updated: October 22, 2026

These terms apply to Metis, a personal, non-commercial software project by Euphie Zhao that runs on the user's own computer. By installing or using Metis you agree to them.

1. What Metis is

Metis is a local tool that, with your permission, reads your Gmail and Google Calendar to add labels to your email, to send briefing, weekly-review and job-digest emails to your own address, and to write a daily log into your own notes. It can also send a daily AI news digest, built only from public news, to people you choose. It is currently an early-stage personal project and is not offered as a commercial service.

2. Your accounts and responsibilities

3. AI-generated content

Labels, briefings and summaries are generated automatically and may be incomplete or wrong — for example, a label may be misapplied or information about a meeting attendee may be inaccurate. Check anything important before relying on it.

4. Your data

How Metis handles your data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can stop using Metis and revoke its Google access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. No warranty

Metis is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, missed emails or meetings, arising from your use of Metis.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated; the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continuing to use Metis after a change means you accept the updated terms.
